What can you do to prevent Cancer?

With the growing number of Cancer cases ( 1 in every 4) and types of Cancer its important to know what you can do naturally to prevent it. Research shows that with many types of cancer there is a Vitamin D deficiency. Where do we get most of our Vitamin D ? From the sun!!! We have been led to believe that sun exposure is evil, but is this really true?

Over exposure to the sun can be harmful but we do need the sun's rays on our skin daily for good health, depending on your skin color and tone will determine how much you should be getting. The bigger problem is what we are putting on our skin, most commercial sun blocks have chemicals that are far worse than sun exposure. If you live in the Northwest, even more is the lack of sun. To help in this area many reputable supplement companies are putting out some very good Vitamin D3.

It is important to reduce your exposure to man made chemicals, choose cleaning products, hair/skin care, cosmetics, yard/garden care that are free of chemicals so your body doesn't become toxic from absorbing all these sources. A healthy diet and regular exercise are proven ways to defend off cancers. Eat foods that are organic, cancer fighting foods like broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, green tea. Your body needs to be in an alkaline state and these are things that will help with that. The more acidic your system is increases the likelihood of cancers and the spread of disease through your body. Detoxing your body regularly is an excellent preventive measure.

Antioxidants these are the good guys that will help fight off invaders that can cause damage.

Coenzyme Q10- creates cellular energy. High lignan flax oil or flax seeds, Garlic, queceritin, reservatrol, selenium, turmeric, Vitamins A,C,E and Zinc. Some other supplements that are being studied for cancer prevention are Aloe Vera, Ginkgo, Lycopene, Milk thistle, several different species of mushrooms ( maitake, oyster, reishi, and shiitake), Omega 3's, Calcium/vitamin D3, Folic acid and B12. Its important that you speak with a supplement specialist if your not sure what you need to take. Not all products are created equal, stay away from pressed pills, best are whole food, liquid, or encapsulated with very few “other” ingredients. If you would like more information on any of these supplements you can contact Healthy Alternatives.
